About Alderson Construction
ALDERSON CONSTRUCTION is a custom residential builder in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Established in 1979, we have worked with many nationally recognized architects
and designers including Barbara Barry, Bohlin Cywinski and Jackson, Tucker and
Marks, Orlando Diaz-Azcuy Design as well as a host of fine local architects.
Sensitivity to the past
For more than three decades we have had the pleasure of working on unique
homes originally designed by many of California’s most notable past architects
including John Hudson Thomas, Bernard Maybeck, Julia Morgan, Clarence Tantau,
William Wooster, Gardner Dailey, and Walter Radcliff. We have additionally
worked on homes of celebrated Californians including Ansel Adams. Our
participation in the restoration of the Nationally Registered Landmark Saint
Augustine’s Church was recognized with an Orchid award by the City of Oakland.
A view to the future
Our history with the University of California, Berkeley, Pacific Earthquake
Engineering Research (PEER) Center building specimens for the testing the seismic
performance of bridge columns has given us insight into future design and
material technologies .
Most recently we shared in the award for the Greenest Project for 2009 in
Lafayette, California where our use of rainwater and greywater established new
protocols for Contra Costa County.
